hey guys!! just a quick question...

if i build a 2 button footswitch for an amp do i have to insolate the ground? like by using a plastic 1/4" jack or can i just use a regular jack?? would it have any ground problems by doing this? thanks!!!

Most likely, no.
An isolated jack is not needed.

If however you plan to install LEDs that are powered from your general PSU there could be a ground loop issue. In which case, isolate the jack.

When I build amp footswitches with LEDs, I prefer to use a battery to power the LEDs to eliminate the issue.
It's time to buy a gun. That's what I've been thinking.
Maybe I can afford one, if I do a little less drinking. - Fred Eaglesmith
