Does anyone know the pinout for a replacement control pedal for an original Univibe? A friend recently got one without a pedal (which is also the bypass switch) and hasn't been able to check it out yet.

It's interesting that there is so much information out there on Univibes, but it's mostly geared toward making your own, not repairing a real one.

Thanks.

Hard as it is for me to say this...  :icon_biggrin: ... I don't know.

But it should be very easy to trace from the schematics. There are five wires that matter, and as I dimly remember, five total wires, none unused. One goes to ground, one to the "cancel" point in the circuit, which is the base of the lamp driver transistor.  One goes to the emitter of the LFO darlington transistor; that one connects to the common junction of the external dual pots. One each goes to the free ends of the two pots; each connects to one of the pads in the LFO which has a 4.7k resistor in series with it.

Here's a pic of the top side of the board

And here's my annotation of what I THINK was the right wires. You need to check them out against the schemo.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

MOST EXCELLENT PIC's RG!

Thanks for posting these two gut shot's, best ones yet I do believe.

I'll surely be adding these two beauties to my univibe folder for future reference.

Kudos!     :icon_biggrin:

Rodgre,
I have a spare new-in-box Univibe pedal from the Dunlop clone if your friend wants to use a pedal with it. PM me if interested.
