I have one of them fancy shmancy mojo laden AYA R-Comps that I bought used from ebay and it seems to be malfunctioning. Adjusting the volume pot produces some serious unwanted scratchiness noise and such. It worked fine when I first got it and it's only been acting up recently. It could be a bad pot but I somehow doubt it. This pedal is essentially a hopped up dynacomp and I was wondering if someone could give me a starting point for troubleshooting.
Thanks as always!

If it is the volume pot, and the volume pot only, that is the souce of the scratchiness, then yes, it most likely is the pot itself that is the problem. Try spraying some contact solution into the pot and moving it around a bit and see if that helps. It might be just some junk in the pot, or the pot could be going bad; so either the contact solution should fix it for good or just a little while until the malfunciton gets worse. If the contact solution fixes it, great, leave it alone and enjoy. If it eventually comes back, you are going to need a new volume pot.

Yeah, it makes sense to eliminate that possibility first by trying to clean it out. I figured, if that's not it, that maybe others have experienced the same thing and that maybe it something else causing it. I'll clean and report back.....
