I have been considering building or at least experimenting with the pick up transducer version but also wondering if anybody had attempted to build the electro mechanical version which introduces physical vibrations from the pickup's signal directly into the headstock via an electromechanical device:

this could be their patent diagram (maybe) :-\
I'm trying to work out which parts are anchored and which parts move, I think the coil pole piece pushes against the magnets which are attached to the base plate which is in contact with the headstock, the NS SN could be the clue? ???

numpty,
pls browse for "Sustainiac Model C". This is just what you're asking of.
Too old to rock'n'roll, too young to die

Done that, but no diy constuctional info available there. I'm curious to know if anybody has seen whats inside that little box or reversed engineered it in anyway or built a successful diy version. I going to try something myself at some point. I have seen a version where somebody used a tiny speaker with its coil knocked out and a coin stuck to the voice coil -it's crude but, apparently effective. But I would like to experiment with something closer to the real thing if possible.
