3886 mute function -> tremolo?

if i build a single power supply 3886 amp (close to the schematic found in the LM3886 datasheet) i would use a 100uF/39K combo to ground. if i cut the connection to the 39K the amp is muted.

directly from the datasheet:
"RM: Mute resistance set up to allow 0.5 mA to be drawn from pin 8 to turn the muting function off."
"CM: Mute capacitance set up to create a large time constant to turn-on and turn-off muting."

So as far as i understand the 39K sets the max current from pin 8 to ground and the 100uF is some kind of fade-in/fade-out when muting the amp?

now if i want it not set without mute, i can leave out the 100uF?

and if i want tremolo, i can use a transistor/fet switch controlled by an lfo? by changing the cap value i can then go from triangle to square wave tremolo?

i might be completely wrong here and look at it in a very simplistic way. am i?
