Hello,

I'm planning on building a Big Muff that will be used for bass guitar. I'm going for kind of a ben folds 5 bass tone (warm, wild upper harmonics)  I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with the different builds with bass guitar. I was thinking about the triangle because everyone raves about it but thought I'd get others opinion first.

Also, I know that to change the characteristics of the bass, I could change input/output cap values...  (noob question alert!) are those the caps located closest to the input/output jacks?

Also, I had hoped to add a 4th knob to blend the dry signal with the fuzz kind of like the boss ODB-3 does. Is this as simple as putting a pot immediately after the input to blend the effect with the dry signal?

Thank you immensely, this forum is a lifesaver.

alot of bass players use the nyc or russian stock muff's i think
they are known for having alot of subs, so modding them for bass doesnt really seem necessary
correct me if im wrong

oh and as for the blend
i guess you could do this
but i bet some people are gonna say that it will effect something etc....

it will probably need a gain boost or something though

the big muff is slightly more fancy than that. As theres more eq going on between the gain stages and you can mess with the tone control too. I'm pretty sure i've seen some recommendations on this forum before so just try doing a search for "big muff bass"

build yourself something along the lines of
http://seanm.ca/stomp/bblender.html
or
http://www.runoffgroove.com/splitter-blend.html
or
http://moosapotamus.net/THINGS/paraloop.htm

would be useful in general when using effects on bass

or you can just build it directly into the pedal
