I have a Dunlop 535Q and would like to do the Keeley Mello WAH mod.  Does anyone have the specifics on this MOD and how to do it?  I have searched all over the forum and have not found anything.  In it's stock form the WAH is not very smooth and this MOD sounds like just what Ii am looking for.

Thanks for the help!

i used to, before my computer took a crap a few months ago.

its nothing special. your basic mods, and i do mean basic (volume control, Q range adjusted to taste-most likely 100k) with a yellow and red fasel inductor and a switch to choose between em. i can see you doing the inductor switcharoo mod on your 535, but most likely thats about all...

I am a noob at this so bare with me.  Do you have a shem and a parts list you could provide to do the inductor switch?  It just seems like the pedal is not smooth.  The sound goes from low end to high end almost like a switch instead of a smooth transition.  I hope that makes sense.

capturing a "smooth" travel wont be solved by swapping inductors. the 535 has surface mount components, which arent very easy to modify for the beginning DIYer. what i suggest you do is go to aron's store, and buy a couple inductors. replace the inductor in question with either the red or yellow, and see if it makes a difference for you. if the travel is still abrupt, youve got other "problems." in which case raising the mid resistor from 1k5 to 2k or something like that may work the best for you.

Take a walk over to general guitar gadgets and  have a look at their wah projects and information.
Then walk over to GEOFEX (linked above) and look for the technology of the wah. All the answers are there.

You can either modify your wah board or build a new board and install that in your wah shell.

Ah, I see. Yeah, it would be difficult to mod those SMD type PCBs. It's a challenge for me, I have tried it a couple of times.  :icon_confused:
