TS boost switching question

I built up a tubescreamer with mods and have a second stomp switch wired as a boost. Actually just cuts the gain down a la fulldrive. I'd like to wire the switches up differently so there will be less stomping. The way it is now, first you have to step on the bypass stomp to turn the pedal on, then if you want to go straight to boost (if it's set to channel 1) you have to then step on the boost.

Id like to wire it up so if channel one is engaged I can just step on channel 2 and have it switch over. If I want to bypass, I can just step on the active channel. Im sure this has been done, just wondering how to wire it up - I'm guessing I may have to go to relays, momentary switches? Thanks for any help!

Let me make sure I umderstant your setup correctly-

There are 2 stomp switches, one that controls bypass and one that controls the mod.


If so, then if you used a dpdt or 3pdt for the bypass one, and a spdt on/on for the mod, then when you stomped bypass, whatever you were on you will go directly to bypass, and when you stomp bypass again and turn the effect back on, you will go directly back to whatever you were on before. Think of it as having a dpdt toggle to control the mod, only as a footswitch

You could just make a boost pedal to accompany your TScreamer and wire them up in the same enclosure. A lot of the "big boy" pedal makers are doing this now.

Thanks guys but let me explain it better. I already have the pedal working with the left 3PDT as a on/off and the right as a boost (just adds gain resistance)

What I want to do is this:

Left switch turns on/off pedal with gain 1 setting

Right switch turns on/off pedal with gain 2 setting

If the Left switch is engaged (on) and you step on the Right switch the gain level and LED switches over to the Right side. And visa versa.

You need to step on whichever side is activated to bypass

(There is no stacking of both sides)

I know theres a way to do this, just dont know how
