Good Hotpotz I replacement?

My Hotpotz I (Clarostat EJ) in my V847SP is just about shot.

Any good replacements that keep the same taper?  I like the high end of the sweep, as well as the transition (not too quick).
Does the Hotpotz II have too quick of a taper, and keep the high end?  I am aware of trying a 0.33uF cap to the wiper of the pot.
I seem to remember that the Hotpotz I averages above 100k, and the Hotpotz II below 100k.

Otherwise, does the Smallbear 100k do the trick with regards to the taper as well as keeping the high end of the sweep?

i love those original pots. personally, i cant stand all this "icar taper" stuff...all my favorite wahs have such a fat sweep and full top end because of the hot potz 1 and 2...the hot potz II is a tad quicker from the midrange to the top, but its also more reliable.
no longer the battle of midway...(i left that band)...

Well,
I just tried the Hotpotz 2 on my stock v847SP (except True Bypass Switch).  It is definitely different than the Hotpotz 1.
More of a dead spot in the heel down position where not a lot of change happens.  It does take longer to get to the mids, then, a quick transition from mid to high end.  This seems especially apparent on my Vox, as I have a short bumper on the heel, and the mediums on the toe side so the physical sweep range is wider than stock.
The high end is about the same as the 1, maybe not as trebly by a hair.
The Heel/bass side finally seems like it needs more gain now; before this, I never felt the need to increase my input resistor from 68k to 47k, as I always felt like that change did too much and boosted it beyond unity.  (Or maybe I should lower the emitter resistor from 510 to 470).

I then swapped out boards with an otherwise stock 80's Rev C SOD crybaby (the one that looks like a Thomas Organ).  It did sound a little better on the heel end, maybe because there was slightly more gain.  This circuit is stock, but the emitter is a 470 rather than the 510 on the Vox.  Maybe I need to tune that on the Vox to a 470 and get some gain back, as well as add some bass.

Jonathan, thanks for your help, btw.

dead spot, definitely a good word for the bottom of the sweep. i wonder what would be comparable to the hot potz I?
