Red llama sounds awesome with a boost in front, but too muddy without, ideas?

I finished my llama.

I find that it seems to work right. It is VERY loud, and can go from almost clean to fuzzy. It seems really touch sensitive, which is probably why the boost is so great as it keeps it screaming all the time.

I like it and will keep using it with a boost, but was wondering how I could tame the slightly bassy, "fuzzy" tone without a hard driving input.

It's like when I boost it, not only does it get way more distorted(as expected), but it becomes clearer and less bassy.

I have thought about messing with the output cap, seems to be a lot of people that do. Would that help? and if so, how does the value interact with the frequency?

Other ideas? I know the llama already lowered the input cap and cap between the gain stages, probably to reduce "fuzziness". Should I go farther?

THanks!

Are you sure the reduced bass isn't due to filtering in the boost? There have been suggestions of putting a cap across the volume pot's outer legs, if I recall correctly. I've never tried, I think the Lama is fine as it is. There was a thread a while back with a lot of very useful suggestions!
