instrument switcher pedal???

hey guys I'm looking for a wiring diagram or a layout that would switch between two intruments plugged into it at the same time to one amplifier. So instead of pluging in and out on stage i can just hit the switch. All the digrams i've found have 2 outs and 1 in. I think i need 2 ins and 1 out? Am I correct on this or am I driving myself crazy?

if it's passive, you can go with the 2 outs 1 in diagram, and just plug your cables in backwards. ie. the outs become ins and vice versa.
