as I do use the "search" function  :icon_wink:, I found that my question could well be placed in this rather old thread.

How about passive tone filters with parallel resistors and caps?

I mean, how do I calculate frequency responses when I have a cap and a resistor in parallel along my signal? For example, there is a "Marshall-type" parallel/cap combination in the BSIAB2 (R6/C5) whose frequency cut-off was in some past threads calculated with the common formula 1/2pi*C*R. However I think that should be considered more as a band-cut filter, isn't it? The cap will let high frequencies pass, while the resistor will block high frequencies, so basing on the actual values of the two components, there will be a band of high frequencies which will be cut because both too high to pass through the resistor and not high enough to pass through the cap, am I right?

But how do I calculate those two frequency cut-offs between which my band-cut happens?
