I was comparing the Mo'd Schematic with a Rat schematic and noticed that The Mo'D doesn't have the transistor before the opamp. Is this correct and how much does it alter the tone? Any help is appreciated.

RATs don't have a trannie in front of the IC, IMHO this RAT-schem is not correct.

There is a schem floating around that has a transistor before the opamp. By most accounts, this schem is incorrect.

This is the schematic I traced of my stock early 90's Rat 2.

The Mo-D is almost identical, with just a couple insignificant component differences.

I guess the link doesn't work.

The link didn't work, but I know which schem you are referring to. It is of one showing an input buffer. There may be a version at some point that had a buffer but most of them only have the output buffer IIRC - soulsonic (above) has the best schem I've seen on it. :)

Thanks for the help Guys. I have a Peavey Hotfoot that I was going to compare to The Rat schem for a possible Mo'D mod. Either way I'm sure there's something cool I can do to it.

the transistor (fet i believe) is after the opamp, not before
that schem of yours must be wrong
