Modding a Pedal Power II to add a few more jacks

So I broke open my PPII tonight and there is room for at least 3 more power jacks above the standard ones. I tried soldering a pair of wires to the pads from one of the jacks and then adding a DC jack and trying to get power from both the standard jack and the new one but it didn't work. If something was plugged into only one everything was fine but plugging into both resulted in neither working. Does anyone have any idea how to add an extra jack per output or has anyone ever done that?

  I'm not clear..
But you might be able to get an insulated jack wired in parallel with an existing jack to work.
Less intrusive would be daisy chain outside the supply housing, which could = shorter runs on ground loops if done in DC cable or added output jack in a stompbox.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

I believe what I did was wire a standard plastic DC jack to the same pads (should be in parallel) and it didn't work with two pedals plugged in at once.

then you wired it backwards. those supplies share a common ground, so if you wire backwards you connect supply to ground and short out the voltage. with one pedal plugged, this doesn't happen.

I figured that was what happened when I wired it up the first way so I switched the two wires and something was still amiss. Am I understanding that correctly?
