I want to build the Rebote 2.5 from tonepad and was preparing an order from small bear. I found everything there that I needed except for the 5 pf cap. The plans also call for a 50 pf cap. I found the 47 pf cap to use in place of the 50 pf on small bear's site under this heading:

Capacitors, Silver Mica
Capacitor Silver Mica 500V 10 pf. - 150 pf.

But as you can see, it only ranges from 10-150 pf.

Am I missing something? I sent an email to small bear on Monday and have not gotten a reply. I would prefer not to have to source stuff from a couple different places and have to pay extra shipping.

Thanks from a newb....

isn't there a pull down to select the value?

Yeah, but the values only range from 10 thru 150 pf, I need 5 pf.

A 4.7pf ceramic disc will work just fine.

The info page for the project mentions that you can use 4.7 and 47 in place of the 5 and 50.

The bigger question is why doesn't Smallbear stock ceramic and metal film caps.  Those things seem to be on everything.  I'm still new to this, but I set up an account with Mouser just for those caps.

It's ok no difference I used 47pf ceramic on my Rebote.
2pcs of 10pf in series might give you 5pf value isn't?
