LED current limiting resistor question

I was under the impression that  a current limiting resistor could either be from V+ to the LED + *or* from LED - to ground.

Only you can answer that last one, Beavis, but yes, the resistor can be between V+ and the LED or the LED and ground.

Let's generalize that.

ANY two devices that are in series and are not connected to anything else at the middle junction can be swapped with no change to the voltage across the two or the current through them.

one led mistake you did make though, on your danelectro rehouse layout, you wired the led to the battery + terminal on the dc jack instead of the 9v itself unless theres something im missing?

Technically it makes no difference.   From a practical standpoint it's a good policy to put LED resistors in the positive rail. That way if your LED wires short to the casing no damage occurs.

i had to modify it for a beginner because he wired the jacks wrong cause the jack on your layout had the sleeve where the tip should be etc thing again so
