Dragonfly VMF/Colorsound One-Knob Hybrid?

I was lookin' through the parts box to piece together Dragonfly's VMF and the schematic for the Colorsound One Knob Fuzz fell right next to the VMF's...  Hmmm...
Hey!  Can I replace the 150k resistor in the Colorsound with a diode like the VMF has?  The circuits look similar and I am not really wedded to the One Knob Fuzz as it currently stands.  It's cool but neither one classic sound nor another, if you follow.
Anyone even know what I'm talking about?!?

Well, it was worth a try
  Super gated and farty.  I think this may bear some breadboarding, but as a drop-in mod it just plain sucks.
