Does anyone here know what he does to them to prevent volume drop?  I own a DL-4 and MM-4 and I'm interested in doing the modifications to mine (not for sale purposes).  Just interested in working on my equipment.

Thanks in advance!

I'll look further into that.  But I know in his comments section about the DL4 and MM4, he changes chips also.

most likely he is talking about his rounder sound mod.  He changes a number of parts for that.

hi-fi mod:
1) Replace all the input/output buffer components with high quality
parts for clarity of signal. Remove the electrolytic caps (C4 and C8),
replace with
Nichicon and WIMA; Remove TL072 op-amps (U3 and U22) and replace with
Burr Brown hi-fi OPA2134UA.

Also I forgot to mention this for the volume drop:
remove C1, C23, C24, C36 if installed. This was an incorrect ECO
that put a cap to ground on the wrong side of the true bypass relay

To my understanding, this is what he does.

These mods were emailed to a bunch of people by Jeorge (Way Huge) when he worked for line6. But there is a saying about silk purses and cows (not the one about free milk and cows, that's another story).

sorry...I figured since it was found on the internet openly I would be safe to repost as a response.  If the tables were turned, I wouldn't like it so I appologize to all.  :-\

I wasn't trying to bait anyone or cause an issue.  Ppatchmods... please edit and erase your responses.  Sorry on my part to everyone that read this.

I wonder which of the mm4's have the incorrect parts causing the volume drop, I have one of the older ones and haven't noticed anything, though I haven't played it with a band, that seems to be the real test.
