I've recently built this BluesBreaker replica (overdrive pedal):

But I'd like it to have a little more gain. Right now, the gain knob has to be set to at least 12 o'clock before you can hear any change at all... And I'd like the max gain position to be a little more distorted.

How can I do this? Can I switch some of the parts with a new one?

what amp are you using and how loud are you playing?

A BB seems to work it best with a tube amp that is turned up.

The BB uses series diodes. If you used just one pair of back to back diodes or two on one side and on on the other you would get more distortion but a little less volume (might be fine though).
And/or you could play with the 6k8 resistor in series with the diode. Making this smaller would get you more distortion.

I'd start with altering the resistor.

Funnily enough, I have been asked to mod a friend's Blues Breaker to "...give it more gain...". Are there any other suggestions? This guy wants it to maintain it's warmth but just have a bit more gain.

Nevermind, I just read the other thread and it gave me some ideas
