Anybody has a schematic for this?

It's a stompbox based on the filter section of the Korg MS20, looks pretty cool and easy to play.

Why don't you have a look at the original schematic?

It would be pretty damn easy to make a stompbox that did the same if you could read a schematic.

There is even a simpler stompbox version laid out for you at tim escobedo's circuit snippets page using an in production OTA.

How much more information do you need?

I know Paul and I've seen the laboratory where the magic happens. I don't think there's been much interest in cloning his work because they're very cheap to buy considering their build quality and the actual costs of the components. There's no big markup, no distributor and so forth and so on, and he lives a very frugal lifestyle. He's also very generous with his time in a variety of forums, and certainly not one to blow his own horn or tell anyone off, for that matter.

So, you know, just buy one. They're not expensive, you'd be supporting a pleasant fellow and you'd get a box built with the same love and care as a good home-cooked meal.

Many thanks for the link nelson, that will be useful!

I'll make a layout for this and see how it works.

Frostwave pedals are amazing anyway....

Most of my Frostwave boxes are based on synths with +-15V rails (the Resonator is an exact clone of the filter section of the Korg MS20).
What I have done, is to use a 144 AC plugpack 9that is $5.05 from www.jameco.com ).

I run one side to ground, the other side to a pair of rectifier diodes and caps so I have raw + and - ( about  18v peak) and these go to a + 14 regulator and a -15 regulator.
And there you are.
I do this because:
1. I don't need to mess with the mains (and it would be illegal for me to do so anyway).
2. It works fine
3. It's simple as you can get.

OK, this isn't the answer to the question you asked - but it's an answer to the problem you have!

There you go, both the audio path and the power supply.  I'd like to make a clone as well, Tim's didn't work out well for me, at some point I wanted to try the original, using a charge pump to make +/- 9v.  Wonder if there'd be any issues from not having +/-15v?

If you want something very similar that will easily run off 9volts have a look at  this post from Mr Perry it's the filter and VCA section from the OSCar synth. If you just build one of the filter sections it makes a great basis for a filter pedal.

Paul Perry (Frostwave)

Yeah, it's a clone (as it says) of the MS20 filter section.
With standard voltage to current converters driving the LM13700s for the filtering, and likewise controlling 3080s for the feedback (resonance) voltage control.

Nice post.

I'll make a layout with eagle for the filter section using the schematic form the link posted by nelson, wich needs only 3080 instead of LM13700.

But i need help with the power supply because i cant't find the plugpack for getting +/- 15V.

9 volts

What does the pitch input do on this schematic?
