Baxandall in a box

Hi everyone.  I'm in the process right now of "designing" (really just Frankensteining some circuit snippets together)an EQ type circuit.   My plan is to have an LPB boosting the signal into a Baxandall tone stack into a buffer.  Somehow I would like to incorporate the FAC knob from an Orange OR120 amp into this.  I've searched around a lot of places and can't seem to find anything quite like what I'm trying to do.  I'm not trying to build an emulator or anything, just the tone shaping section.  A couple of questions-
1)Where in the circuit could I stick the FAC control to have it respond like the amp would?
2)Could the gain control on the LPB work as the Level control for the whole circuit?
3)Does this sound plausible?

Thanks for your help.

The FAC control is just switching between coupling caps I believe.
The bax idea would be cool but I think the FAC idea really only makes sense in an actual amp/distortion circuit.

I'm not sure you need to boost the signal into the bax control as much as out of it.
Impedance will be an issue as well so you may need to buffer it going in or scale down the values from the amp values.
Someone with more knowledge about this should help you though...

I wasn't sure if the boost would need to go before or after, still pretty new to this.  Also I was thinking that I would probably scale down the tonestack.  Do you think I would need a buffer if it were scaled down to the right size?  I know that you can scale the vaues by 10 but do you multiply the capacitor values and divide the resistor values or the other way around?

Solder first, ask questions later.

The caps scale up and the resistors scale down.
You want a boost after the EQ for sure.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Oh yeah, forgot about that!
