modded ce-3 pedal issue...

hello, everyone new to this forum OK ... i have a boss Ce-3 chorus pedal that i take issue with  when i turn on it sucks my tone and there is a drop in volume and allot of the highs or midrange is gone to me it sounds like a blanket is been put over it  now keep in mind i had this modded by two different modder's  and told  each one my problem that i described ,but still on change keep in mind one of the changes was to change over from aca to psa power if this change makes a difference? what I'm looking for is any help to finding what other changes i could make to give it more life per say
