Hey Everyone,
A ways back a built the Bass Paralooper project from Moosapotamus' website for a bass playing friend.
I built it using this layout: http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main.php/v/bcreekmur/paralooper.jpg.html
Everything seemed fine once I finished, so I told him it was ready to go. While showing him how it worked we noticed two problems with it.

#1 when the effect is switched on there is a "charge up" effect. Basically what it does is the sound is fuzzy and distorted for about 5 seconds, and then it cleans up and functions normally.

#2 there is distortion on the signal pretty much all the time. It's light most of the time, but the harder you play the worse it gets. I read in this thread about replacing the 1uf caps with .047 http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=50701.0. If I were to do that would I replace all of the 1uf caps, or just certain ones ? My build has 4 of them.

Just as an added note I'm running the pedal off of a 1spot power supply because there wasn't enough room for a battery inside.

Thanks!

I'd suggest replacing all four of the 1uF with 0.047uF. That should help with the distortion issue. I don't know about the "charge up" effect, but it might help with that, too.

Hi Charlie,
Cool, I'll pick some up at lunch. I'm hoping it will take care of the other problem as well. Maybe I'll take a sample clip of it if it doesn't so everyone can hear what it's doing.

Thanks!
