Stocking your parts bins: how to amass an organize a useful set of parts?

I use those coin envelopes and it has worked well for years. I try to stock up on common parts and then resistors that I can add together to get unusual values.

This works well for me. It's a silverware drawer organizer from WalMart. I use one for resistors and one for caps.

I have large storage container to store my most used parts. I also have lots of wooden units that have large drawers. I put all my components in labelled baggies then put them in the drawers.
