Now I'm thinking I got the wrong one, I was going by a picture that pushtone put up that was a 12vac 800ma wallwart and it got me thinking it doesn't have to be exactly 12.6vac that a 12vac is close enough...and of course I went back to the post that the picture was on and I think he posted the picture to show me what a wallwart looked like not that this one would work for the shaka tube.

Quotemaybe I got the wrong one...it's a 12v 1500ma  ac to dc power adapter.

Yep, that's the wrong one. You need a 120VAC to 12VAC wall wart, not a DC one. Also, you are way, way too high on the current. About 500mA at 12VAC should be just right for the Shaka Tube circuit.

Thats a picture of an Ac to AC adapter.
I even explained how to use it in that post.

Grizz,  I feel like your leading us down the garden path here.
Several different posts about the same debug.
And how about that missing ground wire eh?
I'm done with it until you post a proper debugging thread listing everything that you got going on.

Maybe it's time you moved onto that Valvecaster.

It's time to buy a gun. That's what I've been thinking.
Maybe I can afford one, if I do a little less drinking. - Fred Eaglesmith

Sorry dave, I'm trying to take your advice and keep it in one place on this thread.

I didn't get your PM till last night after work and I wasn't in the right place to try and grasp what you were telling me.

I know I'm a total moraon when it comes to all things electric and computers ...but that's why I got into guitar FX to learn and that's what I'm doing.

Thanks to all the help I've gotten on this forum...you guys have been a big help.

Got it up and going and after playing w/ the bias is seems like it's working ok....But the pots are backwards, when I turn them to the right the volum, tone and drive turn down...Did I wire them backwards?

I just noticed that when I switch the shaka tube off the tube stays on or lit up...normal or not?

It sounds awsome thogh

If the tube stays on you must be switching the power after the tube heater supply. You probably need to move one leg of the heater supply to your switch.

Grizz

Yeh that's what I did Thanks.

DC is wrong. You want AC.

Radio Shack does have one and only one AC adapter. It's for AT&T answering machines.
