This would work, wouldn't it?

Drew up a sketch for an A/B effects switcher. Would this work or am I missing something?

Your wiring diagram is a little hard to read, to my eyes at least, but it should be okay.

Just picture effect 1 as bypass and effect 2 as effect in a standard 3pdt switching scheme, and it's the same thing.  Plus the extra LED of course.

Only thing wrong that I noticed is that the LEDs don't have a connection to ground.

I think they do - via the guitar in jack...

Actually, that *won't* work - at least not the LED part.  The switching is fine, but the LED setup will give you both LED's on, all the time.

You need put the +ve to the centre terminal, and the LED's (acutally the resistors) to each of the outside terminals - that should correct it.

Yeah that's what I had also spotted. Besides that looks ok.

Thank for the replies everyone. The LED issue was a really head slapper. DUH. Anyway...glad this forum exists. Bunch of helpful folks here. Living in NYC you sometimes forget that there are a lot of decent people in the world.

Hmm, you know what?  That's a great idea Matt!  In fact I love it.  I've had this problem of not wanting to have my Dyna Comp on when my OD's are on, but I had to switch them independantly.  This may solve that.  Thanks!

...Also am imagining this being more powerful placed on the front or back end of a True Bypass Strip.  Nice!

I was having the same issue. There's a song that I play live where I switch from my Companion Fuzz to my Rangemaster but I've had to quickly click one off and then the other on because the two just don't work together. In a live situation that can be tricky. This ensures a smooth and quick transition between the two.

It's a cool idea, probably not a new one but cool anyway.
You could make it more versatile buy using normalised switching jacks, so when nothing was plugged into one of the loops the tips would be connected together then you could use it as true bypass box or a single loop selector as well.

also, i wouldnt do put each send/return on either side of the enclosure in a vertical position (like your picture shows)
so the lower pedal doesnt get in the way
use the enclosure in horizontal, and put both s/r jacks on facing the top of the enclosure
like this pedal
