J. Musser EZ-Build Headphone Amp?

Years ago, I built an extremely simple headphone amp that J. Musser drew for the old "Stoned Tone" site.  I still use it on occasion, and love it for it's simplicity.

What happened to that "EZ Draw" schematic?  It would be a great first project for beginners, and a good little bench test amp for anyone looking for an easy build.

Is there any chance this project could be resurrected?  I have a copy saved to CD, and a paper copy, but I think that this project would be a great addition to the Schematics or Layouts section.

Just a thought.

I decided last night that I want to build a headphone amp for nighttime practicing, a bare-bones Rockman type thing. I've rummaged through a lot of the posts here, but can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for - I see posts on modding Rubies, & adding headphone outs to other units, etc., but I just want a basic practice headphone amp that won't make me go deaf & maybe have a distortion feature. Can anyone steer me in the right direction? I'm sure you can!  ;D

Try the Little Gem over at Runoff Groove...I bet it could be modded for headphone use, probably by adding series resistance to the volume pot.  Easy build around an LM386.  And it does have distortion/overdrive characteristics.  Watch your hearing, get that volume appropriate before using 'phones!
In the data sheet for the LM386, there may even be a headphone amp schem, I don't remember....but getting the distortion requires modifying the gain to overdrive the IC.

Derek: I remember seeing seeing jmussers ez-builds at generalguitargadgets.com (allthough long time ago)

Tim: What about the Pocket Rocket on Mark Hammers Site: http://hammer.ampage.org/?cmd=lt&xid=&fid=&ex=&pg=7

Thanks! The Pocket Rockit looks to be what I was thinking about. I'll probably build them both, tho.

I appreciate it........
