Japanese Germaniums

Anybody ever used or had 2sb171 transistors. What gain ranges did you get, etc. Did they work well in fuzz faces??

Edit: what about 2sb178 and 2sb176? But I really wanted to know about 171.

if you've found some cheap (or reasonable), I would suggest to buy a bunch then sort them using the info at small bear and GEO. 2SB71 = OC71, 2SB72 = OC72, 2SB75= OC75, etc.
