Has anyone ever tried using octavers like the Octup! for mic?  As a singer as well as a guitarist, having that octave up would be very useful!!!
Along the same lines, are there any schematics out there for 5ths up?

Most simple (analog) octave up effects add some distortion, which might be awesome or awful depending on what you're going for.  You would probably want to have some straight mic signal in addition to the octave.  Try putting the octave up in an effects send on the mixer.

I've used a Digitech RP-80 with my saxophone to get octave down.  Using the mixer effects loop can work well.
