Hi Everyone,

I am new to this forum and please forgive me if this is a silly question. I have made two guitar pedals from General Guitar Gadgets (a Green Ringer replica that sounds like the Dark Lord, and an Orange Squeezer replica that sounds like the Good Lord). When I plug then into the chain with other pedals (all 90s Boss or Ibanez or T-Rex) they become incredibly noisy. But if I run then off a 9-volt battery then the noise disappears. Is there a way to solve this problem?

Thanks for your help.

is your power supply well filtered and regulated?

Adding some Local decoupleing to the Power pins to ground on your pedals should help this....Or you can add a cap across the DC Input jack which should do the same thing...anywere from 10uF to 100uF should be good...

  See GEO, the Spyder.
Have one and use it. Also have a voodoo pedalpower II, use that also.
A battery puts out nearly DC as in a voltage with no ripple [voltage drops very slowly, but very smoothly and steadily].
Power supplies can introduce 'spikes' or 'ripples' which may become injected into the signal path, often producing by-products called hum or noise.
A BFC [large capacitor] across the power rails can 'soak' some of the ripple up, however a well filtered and regulated PS produces very close to the kind of DC derived from a fresh battery.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.
