BYOC Rat - How can I stack these ICs? Any other worthy mods?

Hello guys,

I'm about to finish a BYOC Rat, and I have some issues regarding how to do wire tone stack. After some research, I've picked for my build the ICs that most people seem to like for their Rats:
LM308 (original), TL070, TL071, OP07DP, NE5534.
This picture shows the mapping of each chip.

Unless I'm very wrong, a chip stack is nothing more than 2 or more chips mounted one over the other (matching pins, obviously) and wired together, except for their ouput leg, which is wired to a 10-50Ohm resistor (to balance somewhat the load), and inserted/removed from the circuitry with a SPDT external switch. Applying this to my chips, this is what I planned to do:
- For all chips, leave legs 1, 6 & 8 in the air, and solder the rest.
- For the LM308N, solder the 30pf comp. cap between legs 1 & 8.

My doubts are:
- Is this the right way to do it?
- Do you have other preferences regarding the ICs?
- Where can I read more about chip stacking (i.e. to know what and how can I wire).

Also, if you know of a nice mod for the Rat, let me know! So far I have added dual Ruetz mod, a multi diode array, and a chip overdrive feature; basicly, beavisaudio proposed mods.
Regards! ;)
