Which Feedback Loop?

In a previous thread concerning using a feedback loop to EQ frequencies in the post-stage of the Delay. In the case of my FX96, it has no built-in FX loop (In/Out), so what is my other alternative? Should I loop a patch cable (using a splitter) from the output of FX96 Delay and loop the patch cable back to the input of pedal (also via splitter), or would I have to use my amp's effects loop? I just wanted to verify what you  meant by FX loop (which one)?  Thanks.

(Reason: I'm going to EQ the outgoing frequencies of the delayed signals coming from the FX96 Delay; I want the delayed signals to have a fizzly sizzling repeats--like B-52's or early David Gilmour.)

Another way to put it..I was looking more for the Jethro Tull delay sound, think about the song Thick As A Brick towards the very ending part...you'll hear that fizzling repeats as the echo repeats get thinner and thinner as they deteriorate...
