pcb interconnects

Hey..

I would like to use pcb interconnect clips on my cornish board project to link between switches. I'm going to have pcbs made for the switches to allow the mounting of the clips. What type or brand works well? Do I need to get high quality ones?
Links are much appreciated!
I'm doing this not only for neatness but also so I can rearrange the fx order without having to solder...

Hi, there's a few things that you can use such as "Molex" terminals and either multi stranded wire
or individual wire with "crimp" connections - see below links for ideas.
I've been using "screw terminal blocks" recently and find them much easier to use and re-connect.
Some would find the "screwed and not soldered" connection to be a problem but it works for me.
If I was building a unit that was going to "travel" constantly, then I'd use a soldered connection.
Screw block connectors are not cheap either, typically 40 to 60 pence each , just for a three way !!
Make sure that you get the right "pin spacing" size for your board, typically 2.54mm / 3.84mm / 5mm

I don't know exactly what you mean by clips. But if you're looking for a simple
way to interconnect devices with your PCB, this is how I've been doing it lately.
I've been using CDROM audio cables. They're compact, fairly robust, interlocking,
polarity indexed/keyed, cheap and easy to obtain, and they're fairly high quality.
Most are shielded too.

I usually cut the cable and solder the cut ends to pots, switches, jacks etc...
The header connector, shown below, is mounted on the PCB and the cable plugs
right in. How easy is that? It makes things a little more modular for swapping
parts around too.
Cutting the cable allows me to dress the length so it doesn't spool up inside the
enclosure, and economically speaking, it provides two cables out of one since it
has connectors on each end.

I'm sure you're already familiar with the standard CDROM Audio cable, so here's
a pic of the connector.
(pay attention when procuring cables though, as some cables are three wire, and
some are four)
