WooHoo!
I ripped apart an old Hewlett Packard precision voltage supply from the 60's to get parts to fix and old Vox solid state amp and was pleasntly surprised to find a bunch of PNP and NPN Germaniums!
Best Father's day present I got!
I tried one in a FF clone and sounds awesome....

A friend gave it to me, it was sitting in the garage for a couple of years, it was of no use since you could buy something digital that's 100x more accurate for like $10.

I wish I was into this stuff back in the 80's when I used to work on test equipment, I could have had thousands of tubes and all kinds of useful parts.
Better late than never.
So I guess look for used old test equipment at yard sales or flea markets.

Side bar: We sold a ton of equipment that didn't have to work, just light up that was used in the film "The Abyss"
Also, subway vigilante Bernard Getz (I'm dating myself) was a frequent customer.
