i've started tracing it and, it hasn't taken me long to realize that it's a bit over my head. i'm gonna keep at it but, would love a copy if someone has one. thanks, rylan

The French connection

I know, but the pedal i built does not boost...it just increases volume!

I used to own it. It has to be the overall worst effect pedal i had ever purchased.. Absolutely horrible. I mean bad. Really bad. I did keep and use the ic for my rat.

Hi! is this what you're looking for?

yeah i've got that one. based on the circuit i'm looking at that schematic is maybe half right. thanks anyway.

Jimbob,
my plan was to figure it all out and mod the piss out of it. it would most likely be easier to just gut it but, i'm looking for a bit of a challange i guess. rylan

I believe on the "other" diy forum there is a schem for it. Pretty darn near just like a regular rat.

my main goal to to just get rid of the switching network so i can go true bypass and then make the absolutely best sounding Brat is humanly possiblea and sell for like $300-$400 dollars which will allow me to retire will i'm still young enough to enjoy all my hard work. rylan

make sure you go on a posting-spree to select message boards talking about how "modded Brats have been a longtime kept studio secret" "and that if you've listened to any recording with a really sick guitar tone, chances are a modded Brat was used"

wait a while, then go on ebay with partner shill bidders, bid one way up, have it sell, you lose/invest a few bucks on the ebay transaction ... wait a while, then post for real,,with your shill bidders helping out, and hope that it goes for real to a BBS fiend.

I'll shill  for ya'. ;D

p.s., we met Rylan, I'm Bill from Mammal.

someday we should compare notes on builds

foxfire

well well it is a small world after all. how you been? rylan

There are guys today doing similar things hehe!
Make sure you clone the circuit exactly though, and put a cool swirly paint job on it (no offense Andy, I love yours! :) ), build 20, sell on ebay using the method above. Then, spam every effects forum in existence. Worked like a charm for several diy'ers I hear.

And then go sell kits for it and then go write a book. :icon_biggrin:

nah - that's definitely not the way to get rich! You want people to WANT something, but not be able to get it easily. That creates high demand.
