I used to sell those at the music shop I used to work.
They are made by a polish company called Exar, and Jaques Licenses their Auto Wah model
as the Jaques trinity. (go to www.exarelectronix.com , they have some excellent stuff!)
The Footcontroller is an old millitary part and basically is a moving coil type resistor.
The rubber case provides the nescessary "feel" as the coil's internal spring is rather light.
That's about all I know about it, they must have aquired a huge  amount of these "resistive coil" type
parts at some stage, they aren't being manufactured anymore to my knowledge.
(we had a guy from Exar in the shop demo-ing and I did ask him some questions about the "pump".
I must say they are very nice to use, as they get proggressively stiffer when you step on them,
meaning a lot of control in the working range of the controller.
If I recall correctly resistance was about 10k.
