What size enclosures?

What size enclosures do you usually use? Where do you get them?

I am looking at stocking up for a few pedals, and I am wondering which enclosures I should get for lets say a pedal that takes 1 full stripboard, 6 knobs batter, jack, ext. Or maybe that but 4 knobs. Or a half stipboard with 3 knobs. Roughly which boxes are big enough but I still get the most for my money.

So far I am looking here:

The two most used sizes are 1590B, and 1590BB.

The one that's basically like a square would be the easiest to work with.  You could possibly squeeze everything into the smaller box, but it'd be a struggle, especially with 6 knobs.  Hammond calls the bigger one a 1590BB (the smaller one is a B), but that's not a universal part number.  Compare measurements.  B's work well for A/B pedals, simple boosters, and simple overdrives, etc.  BB's are usually better for anything larger.  DD's work well for combining multiple effects in one box.

Thanks alot, sounds good =]

I've used 125Bs, 1290NS (similar to Hammond 1590B), and the 1590NS (similar to Hammond 1590BB).  I prefer the 125B, but the 1590NS is great, too.

Regardless of size, I'd say get yourself a stepper bit.

Can't believe how quickly I was able to drill a case out this weekend.

It took longer to find my safety specs athan it did to do the job...

For one or two knobs I like 1590b's, although that can be pushing it for a complex circuit which requires a bigger board (for me anyway).

I find 125b's work well for most everything else. I've got a design (on the "drawing board", err.. "computer") for a 5-knobber with 2 stompswitches using a 125b.
