LM741 without noise?

one of my FAVORITE fuzz units uses an LM741 as the opamp....however it, of course, hisses. so i'm wondering if there is a way i can get the hiss done to almost none. i already put a 4700 uf cap across the power section going from v+ to gnd. is there much else that i can do?

btw i'm getting a TL071 in the mail today so i will try that out to see if i like the result but i truly LOVE the LM741 fuzz circuit

You could try a very small cap across the output to try to limit the high frequency hiss...something like 10pF up to 100pF from output to ground; you'll have to experiment to avoid losing too much high end.  But the 741 by nature is a pretty noisy opamp.   The '071 will be quieter, but might not have those fuzz characteristics you're liking.

In that case, you'd have to play with the biasing, maybe by "starving" the bias current to the input like in the Dist+ (using 1M resistors in the voltage divider) and see what that does.
