Not to mention Sansamp's versatility, which is more heavier, tighter, crunchier, and or aggressive sounding??
Let's just say the mesa boogie style settings on GT-2 vs. the dr boogey.

i did that a/b testing..
they sound completely different..
the sansamp is more hi-fi and louder than the boogey..

i found the boogey more organic and realistic as you feel like playing trough an actual high gain amp, a little noisier too..

wich is better is a complete matter of taste..personally, i love the boogie´s warmth and how it reacts with my picking.

Well, I haven't tried the GT-2, but I'm not particulary seduced by Op amp distortion devices... they always sound too compressed. Dr. Boogey sounds really cool, noise is a matter you can reduce by trying lower gain transistors (mine's got different, I've spent some horus trying and listening wich ones sound best) and probably you'll get an awesome distortion.
Some day I'll record some samples for those Boogey's fans.

Thanks guys!. Now there's no more excuses to build the boogey.

I a/b this two pedals an hour ago and concluded the ff:

- for stomping, Dr. Boogey
- The GT-2 is best if used as a PREAMP not as a stompbox.

You can use the Boogey as a preamp, I've made some samples 'bout 2 years ago with it as a preamp for a Marshall 8040, and you could get from clean to that AC DC sound... this baby's got so much output you could drive many SS amps (I've already tried in a tube amp, but wasn't enough). Try some changes on tonestack because it's got too many highs.
