I read something by Harry Bissell recently and he mentioned you never want to use mylar caps in any kind of timing circuit, including sample & hold. I just gathered components for the Maestro Filter/Sample & Hold circuit from tonepad (http://tonepad.com/project.asp?id=50) and among them are some mylar caps. I know the Bissell article was more specifically related to analog synth module circuits, but I was still wondering if it would be a better idea to not use the mylar caps for this circuit either. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

Thanks!

Just in case anyone is interested, I got an answer to this:

I think the only critical cap in there is the 0.05uF between the two FETs. That's the S&H cap. You'll want something polystyrene or polypropylene there. For the other caps, Mylar will probably do fine.
