where to buy matched NOS NKT275 or AC128?

I can get you a matched set of 2SB172's, they'll get you the classic fuzz face tone.

I'm planning on doing some soundclips next week or so...

AFAIK, NOS NKT275's are not available at any reputable seller at the moment,
expect >90% of the NKT275's on eBay to be re-stamped (not real NKT's) or not within spec.
(high leakage or very low gain). Same for the AC128 although banzai effects
(www.banzaieffects.com) sells AC128's that are trustworthy. (germany based shop)

Did i understand that Banzi would cost me 79 bucks just to send to the US?
I tried SB but didnt see them... Who has wxperience with the  2SB172's?

Also, if i was to search for old electronics to steal trannies and such from what are some devices that are known to contain usefull parts? I heard old organs are good but which ones?

ok, but how do these sound? i dont want to just build the circuit and say i've got a fuzz face. i want THE fuzz face! anyone have first hand experience with these trannies?

I built a fuzz face with some NOS 275's. It sounded ok. but nothing amazing.

If they are the choice for Analogman's standard (non nkt275) Sun Face, you can expect them to
sound like a good fuzz face. The NKT275 version is US$50 more over the standard 2SB version.

We also have some really cool 1960s Japanese 2SB transistors that we are using for our standard germanium (non NKT) Sunfaces. These are a little brighter and fuzzier than the NKTs, and cannot get totally clean.
