Another "expression pedal for Small Stone" thread...

My question is, does anyone know what is Analogman making with Small Stones to have the expression pedal controlling the sweep of SS? Look there, and scroll to "Modifying your Small Stone": http://www.analogman.com/eh.htm

I know it's something with LFO, like disconnecting it from circuit and then controlling it by an external pot... but all I came up with always ends in controlling the "Range" externally.

Anyone?
