Did you ever have it RF free with 9v? If so, are you using the same type of 9v as before (battery/adaptor)?

Try increasing the value of the cap (330 pF, 470 pF, etc) and see if that helps.

mitzrecords

sorry zach, what is RF?

ya i think im gonna try that inscrease the value of it.

thanx guys

i didnt turn all the way up to see when i fixed put that cap. today i turned up the gain and vol. and realized there was still RF.

so im guessing it was there before too. adn im using same 9v power adaptor.

hmm??

mitzrecords

ohh and i also just built fuzz F pedal and it also has a radio signal coming in. so maybe it is my power adaptor??

mitzrecords

I used 22AWG wire. Should I use thinner wire for radio signals??

this didn't help. so maybe my power supply?

mitzrecords

i guess i might as well try lower value cap from pin 2 to ground.

so i just found this on another thread. i guess i will do this. can't wait!!!
seems pretty simple, just one electro 110uf and regulator?

What you do is just put a 100uF cap across the DC jack (positive leg to positive rail, neg. leg to neg. rail), then, instead of connecting the positive rail directly to the circuit, connect it to the regulator's pin1, ground to pin2, and the circuit to pin3.
Here is the regulator's pinout:

Is this clear?

so today i received 7812 in mail and tried to put it onto my valvecaster. didn't work. I think I'm wiring it wrong. sorry pics are really hard to see. i tired my best.

left: to + of dj jack.
middle:to ground.
right:to 9V board and led.

please help me :icon_redface:

Mitz - I don't see a ground connection between your DC socket and the 7812/circuit.

It looks to me from the photo that the cap is soldered onto the DC socket which is good, but you should also have two wires from the DC socket to the circuit, +ve and ground - you only have one wire from the DC socket to the circuit.

thanx rick. so another one from + on dc jack to ground, is this right? :icon_redface:

Zben3129

nope, one from - on DC jack to ground on board/input jack/output jack. Pretend that DC jack is actually a battery and battery clip - you don't have the black lead from the battery clip attatched to your circuit.
