I usually order my wire from Mouser, Hook-Up Wire 24AWG MIL-W-76B BLUE. I decided to try the #24 Pre-Bond Wire from Small Bear. The Small Bear wire seems to be thinner than the Mouser wire. It feels more like a 26 gauge.
Has anyone else noticed this or is it just a thinner shielding?

Yes, it might just be the insulation.
If you strip the wire and compare them you will be able to tell better.
If you can measure then with a caliper you will know for sure.

I really liked both wires from both places. The mouser stuff seemed a bit expensive but also included a 100ft roll. Smallbear stuff was good to but took too long sincve I hate paypal and have to send a check. I REALLY like this new teflon wire 22 from effectsconnection.com. It seems sometimes the size 22 I get from different places are just a little diffrent from each other. Even if theyre supposed to be the same stuff.
