wah buffer question

hey folks!
Sorry to bother you with yet another topic...
but I'm just irritating like that  .
Anyway,
I "scored" an 80's Dunlop wah for $15, with Stack-of-Dimes, 5117 transistors, etc.
Someone apparently tried to put in a status LED and a DC jack, since most of the cables inside are "disconnected (aka simply cut at the solder lugs).
While "restoring" it, I figured I could put in home-wrecker.com's wah output buffer to drive my cable chain.
Now I have a question though... what's the difference between the input and output buffers?
Should I go with just an input buffer taken from a "later" crybaby, put in both a input and output buffer,
or just the output buffer and a true bypass switch?
Cons/Pros?

Output buffer - use this so the wah effect doesn't get lost when using a fuzz pedal.
Input buffer - for combating tone loss when using long cables. Some Fuzz pedals might not like this.  I have no idea how transparent they are as I've never used them.

ok cool... so both of'em together won't be overkill?
I think I'll just go with the input buffer for now...
