Rehousing a Danelectro Fab pedal without true bypassing it

Hey guys,
I'm in need of a cheap flanger, and I heard the Dano Fab pedals sound really good for the price.  The only problem is, they're a bit wide (I don't mind the case though) for my pedal board, since I only haev enough space for a B sized box.  So would it be possible for me to just re house the pedal in a B sized box, but not true bypass it? I hard the cmos switching is actually quite clean.
How would I rewire the switch?  I've read from searching that it's just a momentary spst switch.  Could I use a normal latching spst stomp switch? After I replace the switch, everything else seems simple enough.
Any help would be great!

of course, forget the 3pdt and the led
just use the momentary switch wired like it is and that works fine (done it myself)

Do you know how the cmos switching works? Can I replace the spst with a normal spst stomp switch?

i dont know anything about cmos switching

So it has to be a momentary switch right? Also, the switch there activates the pedal, but it can also turn it off?

yeah its gotta be momentary
the bypass switch on the board is a momentary tactile switch, wire an external switch off of it (like on danos diagram, it works i know) and you have a bypass switch
the switch acts like your everyday bypass, tap its once, the effect is "on", tap it again and its "off"

the tactile switch on the board still functions too even with the external switch (dont remove it though)

the switch works by applying either a power source or grounding the switch circuit which then changes the state from on to off or vice versa. When true bypassing any dano, keeping it always on is what you would want. This usually involves jumping the IC controller. You can usually find out by looking at the datasheet or with a process of elimination with a multimeter. Measure the pins on the IC and see which is turn on/off, etc. and by process of elimination you will know which pins to jumper. However this is not what you want since you want the buffer, so forget it. That means you need a momentary switch to replace the current cheap one that dano uses. The carling from smallbear is probably your best choice.

all the FAB switching boards are exactly the same, so that diagram really applies to any FAB pedal
only the effects boards are different (of course)

...did they have to name them FAB!???
