I've looked into this type of switch as well (non illuminated ones though)
The problem usually lies in the actuator going lower then the base of the switch, so you have to push it
inwards instead of flat with the panel. You can solve that with glueing something on top,
but that will ruin the look....

Really Like the illuminated ring though, it should be possible to recreate something like that around
a 3PDT, like the light emitting border technique.

Anyway, nice switches.

PS: 14.99 GBP?! wow that's not cheap...
It's supposed to sound that way.

yeah, used those in some computer mods / builds,

you can get them from computer mod sites for about $15-$20 http://www.frozencpu.com/products/1904/ele-70/Blue_Illuminated_Bulgin_Style_Vandal_Switch_-_Silver_Housing_-_Ring_Illumination.html?tl=g4c153

illuminated bulgin vandal switch, cant really push it with your foot, they are designed not to be accidentally activated (bad to accidentally switch you computer off) , you have to push them hard

Yeah, vandal-proof; they're made for public terminals and places where they would be subject to harsh abuse by ridiculous heathens who would pound on it like freak and spill cola all over it and puke on it and throw rocks at it and all the other crazy stuff people seem to do to anything that's left exposed and intended to be interacted with.

But on the subject of cool switches; I once made a Mute box with a big arcade cabinet pushbutton. It was pretty sweet and the fast momentary action made it great for stutters and stuff like that. The only problem was the super-deep mounting depth that limited the style of box that it would fit in. It was a bright red button and I covered the box with yellow/black striped safety marking tape - it looked crazy.
