I've got a NPN Radio Shack Fuzz breadboarded and it sounds pretty good.  It's pretty noisy, but it's not shielded so that's normal.  I have a pair of PNP trannies (tung-sol ET-12 germ, ratshack MPSA?? silicon) both with hfe of about 85.  To use the PNPs, all I would have to do is swap the battery leads making it positive ground and flip any polarized caps around, correct?

Tubes are much easier.  They're all N-type/NPN.  P-type/PNP tube would be wierd.  How do you get a cathode to emit 'Holes'?   :icon_wink:

Thanks,
Matt
