Bobtavia and gain question

Haven't seen anyone say anything about this yet, so thought I would ask before I try it. Or I might try it anyway...
On the concerning the Bobtavia...
Has anyone tried adding a 10uf cap and pot (in series) on the LM386 pins 1 and 8 yet.?
I guess then you would have 2 gain pots.

Or would that be to much for the transformer to handle?

Well, I tried it.
Gives it some more grit.
Played for about 1/2 hour and didn't see any smoke eyt.
