Building a break out power supply for a new pedal board

I've built several linear power supplies before.  I am looking for testimonials from the forum on isolated outputs versus parallel outputs.  I probably won't put the time into parallel regulator circuits but one, big, high current regulator would be breeze.  Can anyone confirm the need for isolation?  I am using a Godlyke wallwart daisychian supply for 5 or so pedals and I've never had trouble...  Perhaps because it's a switching supply?

To add to my concern I will be adding a DBX163 compressor to my FX chain.  It runs on 120V and is probably going to invite a ground loop, no?  Would isolated outputs on five effects pedal impact that?

No technical explanation necessary, just descriptions of past experiences.

Thanks

I was about to ask a similar/related/opposite question. I was looking for a schematic for a pedalboard supply using 7809 regulators and a multiple output transformer (basically a Pedal Power-style supply).

GEOFEX has a layout of the project.  It's called the Spyder - RG has a search function on his page and it was the only way  I could find it.  Googling 9 volt DC supply will get you tons of info but only RG's actually shows how the isolation works.  He even point out an appropriate transformer.
